Why a generic billing package does not fit

Most billing software is written for a shop where the customer pays and leaves. An aqua shop does not work like that. A farmer takes feed and medicine on credit against a crop that will not be harvested for months, comes back a dozen times over that crop, part-pays when he can, and returns what he did not use.

That is four things a general package handles badly: a running ledger per farmer rather than per bill, part payments allocated across old bills, returns that come off the right bill, and stock that is priced by the lot it came in on. AquaKhata is built around those four.

Is this billing software or full accounting?

Both. Billing is where a shop starts, but the same entries carry through to the farmer khata, the collections list, GST returns, P&L and the balance sheet — so the books are ready for your auditor without a second round of typing.

Does it work in Telugu?

తెలుగులో పనిచేస్తుందా?

The whole app is in Telugu and English, and you switch with one tap. Bills and WhatsApp reminders go out in Telugu too, which is what a farmer actually reads.

We have two shops. Does that cost twice?

Can I bill from a phone?

Yes. Mobile, tablet and computer all run the same account, and a bill raised on a phone at the godown is on the owner's screen straight away.

A feed dealer's ledger is not a list of unpaid bills. It is one running balance per farmer, moving every time he takes a bag, pays something on account, or returns stock he did not use — over a crop that runs for months.

Written by hand, three questions get hard at exactly the wrong time: how much is this farmer actually holding, how old is the oldest part of it, and which of my farmers have quietly stopped buying. The khata answers all three off the same entries the billing already creates.

Can I stop a bill that would push a farmer over his limit?

Yes. Set a credit limit per farmer and the counter is warned before the bill is raised, with the balance, this bill and the limit all on screen so the decision can be made there and then.

Do reminders go out in Telugu?

రిమైండర్లు తెలుగులో వెళ్తాయా?

Yes, on WhatsApp, and they can go automatically on the schedule you set rather than being sent by hand.

What happens to a return — does it come off the right bill?

వాపసు సరైన బిల్లు నుంచే తగ్గుతుందా?

It does. A return is tied to the bill it came from and cannot exceed what was sold on it, so the farmer's balance and that bill's due both stay correct.
